This works well if the fear isn't so intimidating that it stops me altogether or leads to failure. For someone who's afraid of public speaking, for example, maybe their fear would make them stutter, which could be embarrassing and even more scary. For most things for me, this isn't the case. There have been maybe a handful of important good changes that I've made in my life without either actively asking someone else to hold me accountable about that change or sharing daily/weekly with p...eople who making the same sort of change. Examples that come to mind right away: my parents paying me $100 every year to read the Bible every day until I didn't want the money anymore, living with a team in Kenya and debriefing our day together over dinner, e-mailing someone every time that I masturbated until I stopped, or taking guitar lessons so I would practice every day for 45 minutes.

I think that asking God to help you change is a great thing and being patient is hard; I would humbly suggest that God has already answered your prayer by sending you a family, friends, and a church.Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17986483712873196944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31112784.post-14478976380963669242010-07-22T11:48:35.494-04:002010-07-22T11:48:35.494-04:00I just want to let you know that your raw honesty ...I just want to let you know that your raw honesty is extremely refreshing.Katie Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10320305079283827621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31112784.post-15469512931402348042010-07-19T13:41:47.715-04:002010-07-19T13:41:47.715-04:00"New Place Resolutions"- nice. Recently, in a recorded talk I heard, Don Miller pointed out that while there is indeed toil in work because of the Fall, there was conflict before the Fall.

In the Garden, God noticed that Adam needed a helper (conflict) and so God set Adam to the task of naming all the animals (work, long work). None of the animals fit Adam as a helper, but God already knew that. After finishing his work God makes a Woman for Adam.

Miller points out how the Bible sees work and conflict as good things but, since we don't trust God, we have toil. I'm not sure how that affects my view of work, but Miller totally transformed my view of conflict. He says conflict is beautiful (much as some NT passage also does). I'm starting to understand what he and the Bible mean.Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17083308770923895453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31112784.post-76130487514686676992010-06-12T13:49:02.120-04:002010-06-12T13:49:02.120-04:00I like your description of the "Mike German E...I like your description of the "Mike German Experience"Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03722157675784558619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31112784.post-30325406178258310592010-06-10T10:10:26.436-04:002010-06-10T10:10:26.436-04:00.org , Les, but yes. I can see how cynicism is a sin in the sense that it causes me to feel disconnected from fellow believers. It leads me into doubting that I can actually fit into Christianity because I can't bring myself to conform to the mass Christian culture most of the time. I realize none of this is true, but the more cynical I am toward the practices of so many Christians, the easier it is for the devil to get a foothold and spiral me into doubt. I'm glad you came to the place of accepting the differences and not letting your judgments skew your perception of Christianity as a whole. It's a weird thing to separate Christianity from actually being a Christian.Katie Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10320305079283827621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31112784.post-80303406101936396872010-03-22T00:33:54.209-04:002010-03-22T00:33:54.209-04:00i actually enjoy your writing style, very interest...i actually enjoy your writing style, very interesting.
don't quit and also keep writing simply because it just worth to look through it.
looking forward to looked over a lot more of your own well written articles, kind regards ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31112784.post-53029761897015450792010-03-21T03:20:28.842-04:002010-03-21T03:20:28.842-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31112784.post-55744191124013277212010-02-14T18:01:31.825-05:002010-02-14T18:01:31.825-05:00the camp was aaaaaaaaaaamazing and i want to thank...the camp was aaaaaaaaaaamazing and i want to thank the person who took the pictures. me and my little brother was in one of them and it reminded me of a lot of good memories back there.... i LOVED the camp...
from, Young Woo Kim.
p.s. my counseler Ellie McCoy, do you remember me? you know, the Asian girl? with the string in her hair?Young Woo Kimnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31112784.post-92191494952914609302009-11-19T20:20:26.250-05:002009-11-19T20:20:26.250-05:00Above, you said that you would trust doctors, and ...Above, you said that you would trust doctors, and that the choice would change your beliefs.
